Dr. Valerie Lucas graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VA Tech) in 1997 and has lived and worked in the Richmond area ever since. Dr. Lucas has developed a special interest in senior dogs and cats and enjoys being able to improve their quality of life as they reach their golden years.

Dr. Lucas and her husband Brian have two children, two dogs (a Chihuahua named Maleficent and Golden Retriever named Bourbon. As a family they enjoy boating, kayaking, fishing, and baking.

Dr. Lucas is available at Swift Creek Animal Hospital Monday thru Thursday and Saturdays on a rotating basis.

Swift Creek Animal Hospital and Pet Resort was founded in 1986 by Dr.Craig Nofzinger. In 2017 he sold the practice and officially retired in 2020.
