Home Cooked Diets

Whenever possible, the doctors at Swift Creek recommend feeding commercially prepared pet foods. These diets are properly balanced with vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that pets need to stay healthy. When contemplating home cooked diets for your pet, be sure to consider preparation time, storage, boarding during vacations, and cost. Home cooked diets on average are much more expensive to prepare, and have a relatively short shelf life. When boarding your pet, these diets can not be replicated by the boarding facility, and the transition back to commercial food is not an easy one. Before using one of the specific problem diets below, be sure to consult your pets veterinarian first.
